LOS OSITOS – Botanic Garden – Villa Rica . As Los Ositos Botanical Garden is born: … “I have had orchids for 25 years and it was born out of love for nature, first I started because the flowers were showy and the first orchid I had was the little shoe of The Queen or Phragmipedium was beautiful it looked like a shoe and did not know what it was, from there I began to collect little by little not only orchids but also leaves and other ornamental flowers… Little by little I was investigating about the orchids that they were, how they grow, people came from other places and they were telling me the names, I acquired books, plus the use of technology I learn more… For me, plants are like my daughters, I have to take care of them, renew them, I always talk to them, I’m watching them. … Now I show them, I share my hobby with those people who want to know a little more about orchids and so I also learn from the people who visit us.

Orchids in Peru :
The beauty of orchids attracts thousands of people excited to observe them in their natural state. Its color, shape, size and smell are determined during pollination, and curiously many species of orchids take a similar form to the insect that pollinated them.
In Peru, thanks to its varied geography and microclimates, there are some 3,000 species of orchids that grow in the tropical forests of the eastern slope of the Andes, both in the high jungle or jungle, as well as in the cloudy forests.
Come to enjoy our garden, you are welcome all year round.
